Nigeria is going nowhere in terms of progress until an Igbo becomes President – Ezeife

Elder statesman and former governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife in an interview granted to Vanguard recently in Abuja examines the journey of the country so far as we clock 52 years in a couple of days; he seems to believe that an Igbo president is the only way forward for the country at this stage.

Ezeife laments about the country’s socio-economic and political development in the 52 years and he concludes that the various tribes/nationalities and other social forces in the country must try to salvage what is left of the country this time around or forget about its future.

On the issue of insecurity, while he asserts that it is a common factor all over the world, he thinks the issue of Boko Haram is a peculiar one which has some political undertone. In his words, “But when you talk about Boko Haram, it has several dimensions. For instance, those who said they would make the country ungovernable for President Goodluck Jonathan if he won last year’s election have exploited Boko Haram.”

However, the highlight of the interview seems to be his stance on an Igbo presidency for the country. According to ezeife, “I wish to state that those who think that they are punishing the Igbos by keeping them out of power are deceiving themselves. It is Nigeria that needs and Igbo President for this country to move forward. Infact, until Nigeria produces an Igbo man as President, this country is going nowhere in terms of progress. Igbos are number one agents of development wherever they may be. They are known for transforming their environment.”

Sex Life:5 Reasons Why You Should End A Relationship.

There is a thin line between staying in a relationship to work things out and being stupid. Here are some reasons to opt out…

1. No Privacy

Your partner monitors messages and e-mails, whenever you receive phone calls (s)he is always trying to know who you were talking to. You literally have to lock yourself up in the toilet to pick up calls. End that relationship!!! Before you know it (s)he will ask you to put your phone on speaker and starts deleting messages and e-mails (s)he feels are not important. Find someone who is loving and caring not a control freak.

2. Interference With Other Relationships

When your partner hangs out with their friends it is ok, but when you decide to hang out your friends it becomes a big deal. (S)he throws tantrums like a child and blackmails you emotionally. When you wave aside the blackmails and hang out with your friends, when you come back, there is some sort of “punishment” for leaving him/her alone. End that relationship!!! It starts that way and before you know it (s)he wants you to place them before your family. Find someone who enjoys being with most of the people you care about. If not, your relationship will be full of frustration.

3. Your Personal Life Is No Longer Personal.

You are out with your friends and your partner suddenly blurts out ” (s)he cries when (s)he has an orgasm” and when you try to call him/her on it he/she simply tells you it was just to make the conversation amusing and you are too sensitive.Whether you’re humiliated or not, as long as he/she thinks your personal life would make conversations amusing, end that relationship!! Find someone who wants you to be happy and confident about yourself and your life.

4. Cannot Let Go Of The Past.

We have all experienced disappointment in life, but we try as much as possible to get over it and move on with our lives. Even in relationships we have to let go of those who have hurt us.

If your partner keeps on talking about his/her ex, takes you to places the ex took him/her to, hoping to run into the ex, or (s)he sometimes calls you the ex’s name, end that relationship!!!! You do not want to be with someone who is thinking of someone else half the time (s)he is with you. Find someone who is ready to have a relationship with you rather than someone trying to use to get to his/her ex.

5. Abuse.

No one deserves to be abused. Whether it is physical, mental or emotional, (s)he has no reason to subject you to that. When in love it is very easy to justify and explain your partner’s behavior but you deserve better treatment from him/her if (s)he wants to be with you. End that relationship. Find someone who knows your worth and respects you.

You are probably nodding your head as you are going through one or more of the above. If so, maybe it is time for you to make a change. I would never try to break a relationship, but if this post has made you take a long look at your relationship, then were you really happy to begin with??

Girl, 20, Auctions Her Virginity As She Already Raised Over N24m To Build Homes For The Poor

First of all I am glad she is a virgin, or so she claims. I am also elated that she wants to help the poor but her approach is just not so appropriate. Virginity and sex are two sacred things that shouldn’t be trivialized or monetized for whatsoever reason. If it wasn’t towards a ‘noble’ cause, I’d call it pornography right away but then, it’s her body, her conscience and integrity at stake and so she can do as she please.

In order to assist poverty stricken families by helping them build better homes, Catarina Migliorini, a Brazilian student, is auctioning off her virginity to the highest bidder for cash. The 20 year old physical education student is set to plough the money – currently standing at $155,000 (£95,400) – into a non-governmental organisation which will construct modern houses in her southern Brazilian home state of Santa Catarina. Already been labelled a prostitute, she rejected the toga as she said she still believed in love but saw the opportunity to make a positive difference to the world.

Despite her explanations, her intention has sparked controversy because she will be followed every step of the way by an Australian film crew for a documentary film called “Virgins Wanted.”

Catarina, who is of Italian descent said : ‘I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it. If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a photographer.”The auction is just business, I’m a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area,’ she told Folha newspaper.

Catarina had signed up to the project two years ago when she saw an advert by Thomas William Productions looking for a virgin to film. Director Justin Sisely will record her emotions before and after her first sexual encounter. A male virgin called Alexander is also being followed.

She will receive $20,000 and 90 per cent of the final auction sale price, which ends on October 15.The winner will be tested for sexually transmitted diseases prior to the encounter which will take place on an aeroplane, leaving from Australia to the US, in a bid to circumvent prostitution laws.A condom will be compulsory, with Catarina saying she was prepared to prove to any sceptics that she has not had sex before.

3 NECO Staff, 6 others Get 12 Years Jail Term Each for Forgery

Less than a week after the official release of this year’s results, some members of staff of the National Examinations Council (NECO) have been sentenced to 12yrs in prison each for forgery. The NECO staff are: Nehemiah Andrew, Umaru Aliyu and Christian Moses A.K.A Danjuma Musa. Six others were also sentenced alongside the NECO staff for the same offences, making nine of them.

Originally, ten people had been arraigned, however, one of the 10 arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court 11 Minna, one Hassan Ayuba had pleaded not guilty to the three count charges and was ordered to be remanded in prison custody for further hearing. But, the nine others, who pleaded guilty to the charges, were summarily sentenced.

According to Ahmed Danladi, the prosecutor of the case, who is also the principal state counsel in the state Ministry of justice, the culprits had been arraigned on a three count charge of forgery of NECO’s SSCE Certificate (over 730 Nos of the Council’s Certificate) and over 427 copies of NECO Examination slip printouts. Other documents forged include Niger State Certificate of indigeneship, statement result of the state’s college of education and other documents for the purpose of selling to various agents and buyers at prices ranging from N10,000, N25,000 and above.

The third count charge is for counterfeiting an official seal of NECO for the purpose of authenticating the forged documents. The offences are contrary to sections 364 and 367 of the penal code under section 79, and the prosecutor had prayed the court to sanction them accordingly since they have pleaded guilty to the charges. Chief magistrate, Hassan Mohammed therefore sentenced them to four years each on the three count charges and did not accede to their plea describing the offence as grievous and that the punishment will serve as a deterrent to others involved in the same illegal trade.
